Ready for the Bench.

With 33 years of legal experience, Barry Laiche has built a career serving people, businesses and communities in courtrooms across Louisiana. From complex civil litigation and municipal law to more than two decades as a partner at one of Central Louisiana’s most established law firms, Barry brings broad legal experience and a deep understanding of the people a judge serves.

A husband of 34 years, father of four and grandfather of seven, Barry has called Avoyelles Parish home while building a practice dedicated to helping working people through some of life’s most difficult moments.

Now, Barry is running for District Judge of the 12th Judicial District Court, Division B to bring experience, character, compassion and independent judgment to the bench.

Priorities for Avoyelles Parish

Putting Public Safety First

As your District Judge, Barry believes public safety must be a judge's absolute number one concern in all bond and sentencing decisions. He will enforce strict, common-sense bond conditions including zero victim contact and firearms bans and revoke bonds immediately if those conditions are violated. By actively working alongside our local Sheriff, town and Tribal Police Departments, and community leaders, we will build a safer, stronger parish together.

Restoring Trust & Judicial Independence

To guarantee a courthouse that is fair, impartial, and completely independent of politics, Barry’s campaign is self-funded and accepts zero financial contributions from lawyers, politicians, businesses, or special interests. A courtroom must never be influenced by campaign donors or backroom political relationships. Barry promises absolute transparency, full disclosure, and an unwavering commitment to equal, respectful treatment for everyone who walks through our doors.

Ending Needless Court Delays & Costs

Working families should never be financially and emotionally drained by endless courtroom delays or stall tactics. Barry will bring his 33 years of courtroom experience to actively manage cases, setting initial status conferences within 30 days of filing to keep matters moving forward. In family court, he will implement mandatory 90-day return appearances to ensure custody and support orders are actually followed, while modernizing our docket with technology to lower litigation costs.
